Animal Map

How to use Animal Map

What you need:

-A copy of ACWW (any version except JPN)

-USB cable to connect DS to Computer (comes included with ARDS)

-The program “Action Replay Code Manager” (also included with ARDS)

Getting the program and demo town:

Before you can learn to use Animal Map, you need to download it first. To download it click here. Also you need a .duc save because AR DS cannot generate its own save. To get the demo town click hereBy the way I recommend you saving Animal Map to your desktop so it is easy to find and saving your .duc saves in its own folder.

Recreating Your Town:

First, Open up the program Animal Map and choose your .duc save and click on open. The first thing you do is enable “advanced mode.” You do this by clicking on “Advanced >>>“ in the lower left-hand side of the program. When a popup comes up click yes.

Now that your in advanced mode you need to edit your rivers and building acres to match exactly as they look like in your town. To do this click on “core river edit” in the lower left-hand side of Animal Map and Click “save changes” when you are done. After you have your rivers in place of where they go, you have to edit your world map. Click on the lower left-hand side where it says “advance world edit.” Now place your neighbors, stores, bulletin board, your house, etc. as close as possible to match the map in your game.

Remember if you cannot find an item you can always click on “find name” in the upper right-hand side of advanced world edit. Click on “save changes” when you are done

What Super River Editing is:

Super River Editing lets you remove your walls and add rivers and bridges OUTSIDE of your map boundaries. Please keep in mind that this is for people that have had experience with Animal Map and if you use it wrong it could mess up your game. I will show you how to use this later.

How to generate codes and put them on ARDS:

Every time you want to make a code for your DS with Animal Map and put them on your ARDS you have to do the following steps on Action Replay Code Manager:

1. Connect your DS to your computer via the USB cable.

2. Make sure you have the latest version of ARCM by clicking on “SOFTWARE UPGRADE” in the upper right-hand side.

3. Drag your ACWW codelist from your ARDS to your codelist that you made or use.

Now every time you make a code on Animal Map and you want to put it on your codelist you do the following:

1. Click on "AR-DS" up at the top and pick "Snapshot”

2. Do what ever you want to make a code out of (for example: super river editing)

3. When you are done Press the "Save Changes" button and click on "AR-DS" again but this time click on "Make AR DS Code…”

  • First, select the game version
  • Next, pick a button combo (A.K.A activator) you will use to enable this code in the game.
  • For the area where it says, “pick size of data” you choose 16 bit. What this does is make the code length smaller or bigger but you don’t really mess with that.

4. Press the "#5) Copy to Clipboard" button to copy the code.

5. Now in your codelist in ARCM you right-click and choose “add new cheat” and you just paste the code that you got from Animal Map and give your cheat a name (for example: (west wall edit (up+r))

6. Back in Animal Map if you want to make new codes to put onto ARCM you just choose "#6) Done, re-Snapshot"

How to Super River Edit:

First click on “edit” up at the top and then choose “edit river super mode.” The greenish-brown squares are your outside boundaries.

-If you see red borders around the inside (normal boundaries) fix them!

-You can only have 3 bridges MAX unless they are duplicated. (I have 6).

-You must only have ONE waterfall. If you have more than one, your game might overload and not boot up.

-You must always duplicate tiles in the outer area of your map.

-If you don’t like the ocean you can remove it.

-Although this is extra space you cannot place items, seeds, etc.

-Only edit 1-3 squares at a time because if the code it to big it could freeze your game.

Pokesav Guide

How to use Pokesav

You need:

  • 1 Pokesav program
  • 1 .sav for either Pokemon Diamond or Pearl
  • 1 Action Replay Code Manager
  • 1 ARDS
  • 1 Game flashcart or Diamond or Pearl.
  • 1 USB cable to connect your DS with.

Getting the files:

I have compressed all the files you need into a .rar format so when you download just right-click and extract. Click: pokesav and all it files

How to use:

First either open up your .sav for Pokemon Diamond or Pearl. Now I will show you how to edit a Pokemon in your party but this is basically the same concept for editing anything else.

Now click Edit on any of the party pokemon numbers.

You must modify everything that is in the orange circles. Don’t worry about the red circles, unless you really want to modify those. Only fill in the yellow circles if they apply for the pokemon your editing. Do not mess with the green circle. When you are done click the purple circle (Ok) in the picture.

Now click “AR DS Code Output” on the Pokesav program to the left.

Next, click on the thing you modified. It could be anything not just the thing I’m showing you. Please the the words underlined which are VERY important when activating codes. When your done choosing the thing you modified click on “save file”.

Save it somewhere where you can find it, name it relevant to what you modified, and make sure you are saving it in XML file format. Once you are done click “save”.

Now that you have made a code for what you did, find where you save it and right-click, “open with>notepad”.

On notepad it will show you two codes, one for Diamond and one for Pearl. Copy the one that you want.

Now open up Action Replay Code Manager and click on your Pokemon Diamond or Pearl Codelist. (OPTIONAL but RECOMMENDED) Make a folder named “Pokesav Codes”. In that folder right-click, “add new cheat” (make sure your ARCM is updated to do this) and name the code and paste the code you got from notepad onto the “cheat codes” field. When you’re done click on “OK”.

All you have to do now is connect your DS via USB and drag the codelist you just added the cheat to, under the “Nintendo DS” section. Click on yes then no. Now just wait until your codelist finishes uploading onto your ARDS! Keep in mind that if you activate more than one code you made with pokesav it will freeze your game and what you did during the session will not save because all pokesav codes have the triggers L+R. Although you could modify this by coping another code with different activators I don’t recommend it for inexperienced ARDS users.

Other helpful sites for acww

Either you want to make your own Codelist for your subscription or you just want to have the latest codes added on your Action Replay DS, these websites I have listed here are really helpful and recommended to help you find the latest codes you want.

NOTE: Click on the numbers or underlined words to go to that site.

#1.  This site is very helpful and it contains AR codes for all three versions of ACWW. I got some of my codes from people on here. One thing though, you have to make your own account in order to have access to these codes. It doesn't take long though. (

#2.This site is helpful also but it's kind of hard to tell what game versions the AR codes are for because some people don't state the version the code they posted is for, so you kinda have to figure it out by testing them which I don't recommend because sometimes they put a code and it's not really what it does. Overall this is a pretty good site.(

#3.This site has alot of AR codes but they are all mixed up but you can go there to search for any codes other websites don't have. Some of these codes are unverified so use at your own risk. Also like neoseeker, some people don't state the game version their code is for. (

This is the basic site for AR codes. All of these codes have been tested and made sure they worked, so you shouldn't have any problems. Since this site has separate pages for the 3 versions of ACWW I will put links of them separately: ACWW V1.0ACWW V1.1, ACWW EURO (

#5.This site gives you ALL of the hex codes for ACWW. You can use these if you have the Text To Item code uploaded on your AR DS. This is a VERY helpful site and I recommend you to save this list onto a word processor so you can easily have access to it at any time because this site is hard to find.
